Sanyo PLC-SW20; A Projector Lamps Projector

The Sanyo PLC-SW20 is one of the newish projector models from the Sanyo company. Keeping in line with Sanyo’s corporate partnership the projector was also marketed as a Boxlight SP-9t and an Eiki LC-SM3, a move that is not uncommon for Sanyo when it comes to manufacturing their projectors. The PLC-SW20 includes a couple of interesting concepts. The manufacturer decide to keep the projector’s aspect ratio at 4:3, while loading it up with all of the modern knickknacks that projectors today certainly must have to compete.

Speaking of specs, lets start with the most important piece of machinery for any projector and that is the “make-it or break-it” projector lamp. A projector lamp in almost any projector is the one part that really must work exceedingly well for the projector to be well received. And the projector lamp for the PLC-SW20 is no exception.

This particular projector lamp is a 150W UHP lamp that Sanyo states will last for between 1500 and 2500 hours. The really special thing about this projector lamp is not the fact that it lasts for a super long time, but rather that it is extremely bright, especially considering the fact that it is a lower wattage lamp. The projector lamp produces 1000 ANSI lumens, which helps it create a beautifully bright and vibrant picture against any surface.

The PLC-SW20 not only has a solid projector lamp, but it also has some outstanding specs and features that make it a winner. For instance, the PLC-SW20 has just about every component input known to man; including HDTV inputs, component video, PC inputs, so that you can project your computers screen onto the wall. The projector also comes with 1024x768 maximum resolution; making all your TV shows and presentations look sharp as sharp can be.

Overall, this projector is a solid all round buy for both office use and home entertainment interests.

Until next time – take it easy.
