IBM iLM300..Bright Future, Bright Lamp.
A little known fact about IBM is that they started to produce projectors a few years ago, and while they realized that service was their niche, the iLM300 was also a superstar. When IBM sold off their personal computing division and focused on services, no one knew that they would decide to enter a new realm that was previously uncharted.IBM has not expanded their projector selection too much over the years and has benefited from the tight structure. The iLM300 was introduced in late 2002 and has remained a solid buy among projector buyers.
The strongest and most appealing aspect to the iLM300, was its application of the DVI digital input. Having its roots in research and development, IBM chose to employ these high-end inputs knowing the direction that projector would take. Back in 2002 there were not that many applications that supported DVI, but IBM was looking to the future.
The iLM300 was also one of the lower priced DLP projectors on the market at the time with an opening price tag of just under $3000. It didn’t come with every possible option, like the size of its screen, but it did offer some really nice high end perks.
For instance, the largest that you could get for an image would be 10 feet, but image size was never a strong point for DLP projectors. The iLM300 is still very bright blasting out 1100 ANSI lumens.
The brightness can be attributed to the 120W projector lamp that is poised in the frame of this beast. The idea behind using a low wattage lamp was probably to keep the noise level low and reduce power consumption. This idea definitely worked because the noise level is kept to 32db and the projector lamp is able to last for an average of 3000 hours.

The contrast on the iLM300 is impeccable displaying a 800:1 contrast ratio, which enables awesome black and true color saturation. Packed together with this amazing contrast is XGA quality resolution that can display 1024x768p. The DLP chip in this projector can really show you what the resolution in a projector should truly be like.
I already mentioned that the iLM300 offers a DVI input, but it also offers HDTV capability up to 1080i. Rounding up the top five is Digital Keystone Correction, a Zoom lens, and a 3 year warranty. Make some time and check the iLM300 out!
