NEC VT685 Projector; VT85LP Projector Lamp
If you are looking for the perfect little office use projector, look no further, the NEC VT695 is exactly what you are looking for. It combines great price, with long lasting lamp and not to mention an extremely bright picture. The NEC VT695 was first introduced to North America in November 2006, yet due to its popularity it is still in production and shipping direct to you. You can buy one new for the low price of $1400 USD and remains quite low in price among office projectors that are capable of a quick set-up. The reason I compare the VT685 to other office projectors is because it doesn’t have the greatest contrast ratio and therefore the blacks are not comparable to an expensive home theater projector. Knowing that the contrast ratio is not great, you must realize that your uses are limited to text presentations and images that are primarily not black or dark.
This machine projects a bright enough image for most office presentations that even have some ambient light present since it has the capability to put forth 2500 ANSI Lumens. Think about this way, if you want some light to write notes, or you want a little sunlight, no problem! It has many inputs and no matter what cable you have, it should work with the VT685. However from my own experience, the easiest and best way to connect is the DVI-I input, since it is digital, it provides a crisp image, and can be switched quickly from computer to computer between presenters in an efficient manner.
The internal organ that is used to provide such a bright picture is a 200W UHP Lamp, which is rated to last an average of 2000 hours. This lamp can be purchased from myprojectorlamps.com by clicking the link here. The only downside of the lamp being so bright is that it needs to be cooled down with a powerful fan. It is quiet, however compared to today’s standards it is still a little loud at 35db’s.
The VT685 conveniently has a manual zoom lens to make things easy when changing venues, and when you combine this lens with a maximum resolution of 1600x1200p you get a high quality image on your screen. There isn’t much more we can say about this projector, therefore the only thing left to do is check one out!
