Panasonic Brings the One Chip DLP Projector

Panasonic has announced that they will be introducing a revolutionary projector that will only include a single DLP chip, instead of the traditional three. The projector that goes by the name of the PT-D3500 is slated for release in select markets by early 2005 and globally soon after that. The PT-D3500 is especially being marketed heavily in the Middle East market. The Middle East is a budding projector economy and projector sales are really taking off in the region, perhaps the population there has started purchasing high-end televisions a little past the age of the Flat Screen TV.

The projector lamp in the PT-D3500 delivers a stunning 3500 ANSI lumens, making the projector lamp one of the brightest on the market and bringing the projector truly to the top of the modernity heap. The projector is does not slouch over and feign against the winds of the competition when it comes to contrast ratio either. This projector is in a word, powerful. The contrast ratio on the unit is a bizarre 1600:1, making the PT-D3500 amongst the elite of the elite as far as affordable DLP projectors go.

The price point for the projector has not been discussed as of yet for the Middle East region, but end consumers should expect to pay close to $4000 USD, which is the current low price in the North American market.

Overall the projector is great, though perhaps not your best bet for home entertainment. Panasonic consistently markets the unit to the business community and it’s probably better suited for a corporate boardroom, as opposed to a corporate man’s fun house.
