Sharp XG-C50X; Projector and Lamp Review

Sharp is a global leader in the manufacturing and production of consumer electronics, and the quality of their products is usually exceptionally high. Sharp projectors are no exception. Today we will examine the Sharp XG-C50X projector and the phenomenal 3000 ANSI lumen projector lamp that is essential to the performance of the projector.

The Sharp XG-C50X projector was originally manufactured for distribution starting in July of 2002 and last shipped in May of 2004. The projector boasts some strong specifications that turn heads and keep ears piqued, even today in the fourth quarter of 2007. For example, the XG-C50X projector is completely HD compatible - it features 720p, 1035i and 1080i modes. The projector comes with a built in native resolution of 1024x768 and can crank up to a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. The projector displays this resolution with stunning clarity with an aspect ratio of 4:3. Peripheral inputs such as a PC connection and component video come standard.

Despite these must have extras and relatively low street price, the XG-C50X sells for just under $2400.00, perhaps the most impressive feature included with this Sharp projector is its projector lamp. The projector lamp required to make this projector function at its optimum capability is a 250W UHP or Ultra-High Pressure lamp. As mentioned previously, the projector lamp produces a stunning 3000 ANSI lumens and is slated to be able to last for 2000 hours. The lamp life is extremely impressive because even a couple of years previously, getting a 250W projector lamp to last for that long was unheard of.

If there is any drawback to the Sharp XG-C50X projector is has to be the contrast ratio. The projector limps across the line with a 350:1 contrast ratio. However, if you are using this projector for presentations and other business or educational purposes the low contrast ratio will not be an issue.

In conclusion, the XG-C50X projector and the 250W projector lamp that it utilizes are a great value and should last you for years and years. MyProjectorLamps.com sells the projector lamp for the XG-C50X projector, please click here to purchase.
