The Sanyo PLC-XF45 has become one of the most enduring and talked about projectors in the mid-to-high-end price range for the last 5 years. Sought after for its bright picture and its multiple application abilities, this projector sold many units during its 2 year production run between 2001 and 2003.

The Sanyo PLC-XF45 was originally priced roughly at $8500 USD, however the price is much more reasonable now that you could probably get a used machine for half that. The projector lamp in the PLC-XF45 is very bright for a 200W lamp, and lasts longer than lamps in your typical high lumens’ projectors. The fan does produce audible noise of 37db to compensate for the heat that is produced to cool this powerful system. However, this is not terribly loud considering that you can place this projector much further away, and therefore keep your audience a fair distance from the machine.

The most popular demographic to purchase this machine would probably be Universities and Colleges as the PLC-XF45 is very bright and has a long throw range, and most importantly can accept many different applications through different media hook-ups. This projector allows for configuration of HDTV, digital inputs, computer inputs, as well as component video and your standard video.

The contrast is not that high with a ratio of 800:1, however the blacks are still quite dark and the image is sharp thanks to its 1280x1024p resolution. Problems with the PLC-XF45 are rare and those who do experience anything negative get proper care from the people at Sanyo under its 3 year warranty.
